The optical 3D surface metrology of the MarSurf CM, CL and CP series uses the confocal principle to scan the surface. The robust sensor technology works reliably – on transparent, metallic as well as rough and polished surfaces.

The proven confocal technology delivers high-resolution 3D data of your workpiece surface within seconds. Since the sample does not to be prepared and the devices are easy to use, you save valuable minutes. The measurement process and the measurement data evaluation can be automated to ensure problem-free integration into your production environment.
The optical measurement is based on the confocal principle and guarantees the non-destructive testing of all surfaces – regardless of their properties such as color, gloss or hardness. Even at high measuring speeds, the systems deliver high-quality measurement data for the profile-accurate reproduction of the finest roughness structures or micro-geometries. Due to the non-contact measuring method, the sensors are non-wearing.
The measurement results are available as true height coordinates (x, y, z). In addition to 2D and 3D roughness values, these can be used to determine, among other things, flatness, volume, layer thickness, shape or contour. The evaluation of profile and surface data complies with international standards – for example according to DIN EN ISO 25178.
